On New Year’s we make our resolutions related to getting back in shape. The gym, a healthy diet, operation beach-body… By the time summer rolls around, the main goal is to get tanned. This summer, at mesoestetic, we give you the keys to achieving a healthy tan that will last longer.

  1. Use protection and avoid direct exposure.

Avoid sunburn. It’s very common to think that the skin takes on a golden tone after a sunburn, but that’s not the case. Reddening of the skin due to overexposure to the sun tends to result in peeling and causes the dark spots we all fear.

It’s very important to use a sunscreen suitable for your skin type and to avoid the hours of the day when the sun’s rays are strongest. That way, your tan will be more gradual and less damaging.

  1. Re-apply every 2 hours.

Even if your skin is already tanned, you still need protection. Re-apply your sunscreen every two hours and apply a generous amount of the product.

  1. Combine your sunscreen with dietary supplements.

Dietary supplements help reinforce the action of sunscreens, but they are no substitute for them. mesocaps sun defense prepares the skin for solar exposure. Formulated with exclusive active ingredients that have an anti-inflammatory effect to prevent sunburn and act as a physical barrier against UVA and UVB radiation.

  1. Exfoliate and moisturise your skin.

Don’t be afraid to use a skin scrub. If you remove dead cells once a week and moisturise your skin continuously, your skin will look tanned longer, while remaining hydrated and healthy.

  1. Shower in cold water.

As we’ve already told you, cold showers help maintain the golden tone of the skin. Hot water dehydrates the skin and intensifies peeling.

  1. Take care of your diet.

Foods rich in beta carotenes are a MUST for people wanting to prolong their tan. Warm-coloured fruits and vegetables like carrots, yams, apricots, squash, red peppers... contain beta-carotene and help keep the skin tan.

  1. Drink water.

Hydration should be both outside and inside. Listen to your body and drink between 2 and 3 litres of water a day.
