Eye contour products are essential to keeping your eyes looking youthful and rested. We'll explain how to choose yours and how to apply it to get the best results.

how to apply eye contour

The skin in the eye contour is far more delicate than that on the rest of the face: It is up to five times thinner! This means that wrinkles and expression lines are likely to appear if you do not give the area specific care. That's why it is essential to use a product formulated to meet the needs of this area from an early age to prevent aging

How should eye contour products be applied? Do it in 3 steps!

Step 1

After cleansing your face, apply a small amount of the product, the size of a grain of rice, to each eye, drawing dots on the orbital bone under the eye, crows feet and the area under the eyebrow.

Step 2

If your eye contour cream comes with a cold effect applicator, use it to apply a gentle massage from the inside out. The cold applicator will cause the small veins in the area to contract, reducing under eye puffiness and dark circles.

If you have expression lines, sweep your fingers in the opposite direction to the wrinkle to smooth them. This massage is essential to help the product penetrate deeply and obtain better results.

Step 3

Allow the product to be completely absorbed before applying other products, such as creams or concentrates, to the skin.

Common errors when applying it

These are the most common errors to avoid when you apply your eye contour:

  • Do not apply the eye contour to the upper eyelid, which is an oily enough area not to need such a nourishing cream.
  • Avoid applying too much product: it could get into your eyes and irritate them.
  • Do not apply the eye contour product to the dark circle only, ensure you treat all the areas mentioned above.

How should eye contour products be applied?

Ideally, you should apply this product every morning and night. Because this area is thinner and more fragile than the rest of the face, you must take care to ensure that it is always well nourished.

It is important to apply the eye contour before going to bed, because the product is absorbed while you sleep and is not swept off by other products such as make-up or sunscreen.

In what order should eye contour products be applied?

When applying the different products in your facial care routine, we recommend that you start with those that have a light texture and finish with denser products. That way, you can be sure that the product will be absorbed as much as possible. Let us give you an example:

  1. Facial cleansing
  1. Concentrate
  1. Eye contour
  1. Moisturising or anti-aging cream
  1. Sunscreen
  1. Make-up

When you get home, don't forget to remove your eye make-up with a specific make-up remover that won't irritate them. micellar biphasic is a biphasic make-up remover for the eye and lip contour with excellent cosmetic tolerance, which leaves no oily residue.
